Doing a marathon of coaching recently to fulfill hours for a coaching certification. Several themes arose that by unpacking might help you.
One coaching principle is that answers lie within. You’re unlikely to get advice during coaching rather a compassionate questioner and deep listener. The voice to pay the most attention to is your own. Hearing yourself answer a question can be surprising, shocking, and even comforting. Answers live in you but to hear yourself say that thing you’ve ruminated about or never thought about but the answer flows out easily that’s a hallmark of a coaching conversation -awareness. Even if your answer is a stutter — that’s okay. You hear yourself and that’s powerful. That’s a breakthrough!

Friends, hope is at stake! One way to know and experience hope is to listen and to speak in a sacred exchange. This is how I view coaching. It’s a privilege to listen. And a joy when the answers come in your voice.
