About Charity Goodwin, Owner
Charity Goodwin is a Mizzou Journalism graduate. She completed a Master of Divinity from Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City in 2005. She’s returned to Columbia, MO to serve as the Pastor of Discipleship for the Missouri United Methodist Church, where she oversees small groups, develops facilitators, and mentors new people. She was ordained elder in 2013. In 2015 she received full certification status as a The Daring Way™ Certified Facilitator, which allows her to facilitate groups in the curricula created by Dr. Brené Brown. This work focuses on emotional wholeness.
A frequent keynote and breakout session speaker on discipleship and leadership as well as spiritual, personal, emotional growth, Charity has presented at conferences, meetings, and worship services to urban and rural audiences, small and large groups. Her largest group was 1,300 as the opening preacher for The Missouri Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. In March 2017 she began her coaching certification through Coaching 4 Clergy, which is part of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Her experience has been primarily within the non profit sphere: community organizing, public relations, service providers (such as Easter Seals Midwest) and religious institutions.
